- What is the criteria used in the star rating of each credit card?The star rating system is used to help give you a quick idea of how one credit card compares to another. This unbiased rating system is based on the benefits the credit card offers the cardholder. A higher star rating is awarded to those cards offering unrestricted rewards opportunities, no annual fees, lower interest rates etc. In summary, a higher rating goes to those cards which offer more benefits with the least cost to the cardholder.
